Rheumatologists
Dr Marc Toh, BSc(Med), MBBS (UNSW), FRACP, is a specialist rheumatologist in Newcastle, NSW, providing expert diagnosis and management of inflammatory arthritis, autoimmune diseases, and complex musculoskeletal conditions. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a member of the Australian Rheumatology Association.
Dr Toh works in both private practice and the public hospital system, and has been actively involved in medical education, clinical research, and quality improvement in rheumatology care. He is committed to delivering evidence-based, patient-centred treatment that supports long-term joint health, physical function, and quality of life.

A referral from a general practitioner is required to attend Core Rheumatology.
If not already sent, please bring the following to your appointment:
• GP referral
• Medicare card (and concession card if applicable)
• Current medication list (including supplements)
• Relevant blood test results and imaging reports
Please arrive 10 minutes early to allow time for registration.
If you are unable to attend your appointment, please provide at least 24–48 hours’ notice. Late cancellations or non-attendance may incur a fee.
Core Rheumatology is a private billing practice. Medicare rebates are available for eligible consultations with a valid referral. Fees are payable on the day of consultation via EFTPOS or credit card.

We have onsite parking at the rear of the practice including a disabled space.
We kindly ask that at least 24 hours’ notice is provided if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, may incur a fee of 50% of the consultation cost.
Providing notice allows the appointment to be offered to another patient who may be waiting for care.
For safety and quality of care, prescriptions are generally provided during consultations where appropriate clinical review can occur.
